The second oldest Departmental Association of the College, was the outcome of the Biennial Conference of the Homescience Association of India at Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati in 1979.
The main objective of this Association was to encourage and enable all the Homescience students to -
- Organize and participate in extra and co- surricular activities while in college,
- Disseminate knowledge about Homescience in the college community,
- Dispel the myths and misconceptions of the general public about Homescience and to develop the self-confidence and self-esteem .
"Tapping the Talent ", Paper Presentations, debating, model making and method demonstrations are some of the innovative programs planned by the studetns. The faculty only play an advisory role with the students shouldering the major responsibilities of planning and managing the activities.
The Association invites speakers on topics like Breastfeeding, Immunization, Etiquette and others to share their expertise on varied topics to broaden the horizon of the students and organizes classes and demonstrations on creative homemaking skills
Organizing competitions like Poster and Chart making on Nutrition, Dictionary game, Coins on the Rim, Greeting Card Making, Memory Games, Antakshari, Dumb charades, and many other creative games & exercises.
Spectrum – Wall journal displaying interesting ideas, snippets and creative crafts every fortnight.
Celebration of Breastfeeding Awareness Week, Nutrition Week, World Disabled Day etc prepares them for their future role as homemaker as well as citizen of the Nation.
