Telugu has been offered as a Second Language ever since the inception of the College in 1958. Telugu is offered as one of the Second Languages along with French and Hindi at the Intermediate and Undergraduate level. With increasing technology and the media impact, there has been a fall in the standards of every language be it English, HIndi or any of the regional languages as young people fall prey to short forms (SMS) language, certain 'not so desirable' vocabulary used in films and TV soaps. The Department has taken many proactive measures to encourage the use of good Telugu among school teachers through workshops and lectures. |
Linguistics, Journalism, Creative writing and Narration techniques are introduced as unique featureS in the syllabus along with the conventional aspects like grammar, poetry and prose. |
