2015-2016
A two-day workshop on Choice-based credit system ( CBCS ) was conducted for faculty of the college. Introduced Yoga, Martial Arts and Music as co-curricular activities for the students in addition to NCC, NSS and Sports.
A new degree programme BBA was introduced from the academic year 2015-16.
Prof. Uma Maheshwar Rao, Registrar Andhra University was the Chief Guest for the 57th Inaugural function of the college.

The greatest achievement of the year 2015-16 was the initiative of TARANG, the First ever Youth Fest of St Joseph’s College for Women (A).
On 26th January 2016 the St. Joseph’s College for Women started a new custom to celebrate The Republic day in the college premises.

2014 – 2015
Dr. Sr.Shyji. P.D took charge as The Fifth Principal of the College.
Minister of HRD Shri.Ganta Srinivasa Rao graced the occasion of 56th Inaugural function conducted in the college.
Two day UGC National Conference on ‘Emerging trends in value addition to plants and plant products’ on 24th and 25th July 2014.
Introduced certified SAP course in association with SAP INDIA and Global for UG. Masters Programme was introduced by the Department of Homescience with two Specializations – Food, Nutrition and Dietetics (FND), Resource Management & Interior Design (IDRM). 1 Major Research Project (Home Sc.) and 4 Minor Research projects (2 in chemistry, 1 in Mathematics and 1 in Economics) are under progress with external funding.
A research laboratory in chemistry was inaugurated by Sr. Alice Marie, Correspondent of our college on September 30th.
Two day Youth conclave sponsored by RGNIYD “Health in your hands”. In the month of January a short term course in self defense comprising of Karate has been inaugurated in our college, where Mr. Hari Prakash, DEAN, Student Affairs was the chief guest.
Prof.B.Mohan Venkat Ram, Dean Internatioanl Student Affairs & Public Relations, Andhra university was the chief guest for 56th Valedictory function of the college.

- Received District Level N.S.S. Best Programme Officer’s award on 15-08-2013 from Prof. G.S.N. Raju, Vice Chancellor, Andhra University.
- One Week Workshop was organized for the faculty of PG Maths and Chemistry in Dec.(during MSE for PG students) to empower them in English language usage and to make them more articulate and communicative. Dr. Nalini Dutta, HOD of PG Eng. Dept. & Sr. Domonic, lecturer in PG Eng. Dept., were the Res. Persons, Nov.2013.
- A series of workshops on ‘Effective Oral and Power Point Presentation of Personal and Departmental Profiles’ were conducted for all the faculty members in the month of Nov. before NAAC Peer Team Visit. Res. Pers. – Ms. D. A. Ramani, HOD of Off. Mngmt. & NAAC Coordinator of the college.

- Prabhakar addressed the PG Eng. Faculty on Jan 31,2014 and enlightened them on ‘Lesson Planning for PG Students’.

The Department of Homescience was selected & one of the centers to undertake the I phase of the Capacity Building Project – on “ Street Food Services” supported by World Bank & Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. Language Laboratory was set up to teach communication skills
2004
Post graduate course in Computer Science was started successfully.
Mrs. Suguna Kannan was selected by A.P. State Government for the A.P. Best Teacher Award 2004. This included a citation a medal and Cash Prize.
2003
Post Graduate courses in Mathematics and Undergraduate course in B.Com. and B.A. with Journalism & Mass Communication was started.UGC has granted the conduct of three Add-on-Courses in Travel & Tourism, Copy Writing & Editing and Effective Communication skills.Credit system was reintroduced at U.G. level.College was short listed by A.U. for consideration as “College with Potential for Excellence” by U.G.C.
2002
Ms. Michael Johnson Expect, Association of Personnel Services Organisation, Ireland prepared a detailed report of the facilities, departments and potentials of the college to grow.
2001
The Peer team of NAAC visited the college in August 2001 & after a thorough analysis accorded the college a Three Star status. The UGC Inspection Committee assessed the college in November 2001 for purpose of extending the third term of autonomous status.The team was very satisfied.
1997
UGC National Workshop on Question Bank Preparation in Nutrition was organized for the Home science lecturers of Southern Region . A new course in B.Sc.(Vocational) with Chemistry, Botany & Food Science & Quality Control was started with assistance of UGC.
1996
Extension of Home science block with help from U.G.C. to improve the infrastructure since the student strength of the Home science Department has been increasing steadily in the past 2 decades.
1995
Dr. Sr. N.D. Veronica took charge as the Fourth Principal of the College.
1993
Department of Chemistry was selected for participation in a project on “Low Cost Chemical Instrumentation” organized by International union of Physical and Applied Chemistry.
1990
A new course offering Computer Science with Maths and Physics was started.
1987
College was granted the Autonomous status by the UGC and given the freedom to administer its own academic programme. Several new courses like Women’s Studies, Consumer Education, Society and Culture of the Andhra were introduced.
1984
A restricted course was started with Office Management being offered in B.A. This was another first for the College since the course was developed exclusively by the college based on the felt need of the Society.
1979
College was selected for COSIP (College Science Improvement Programme) for improving the Science teaching & research methods.
Sr. Alice Marie took charge as the Third Principal.
1977
College organized a seminar cum workshop to train the lecturers in the new methods of teaching, testing and evaluation. This laid the first seed of Question Bank in St.Joseph’s college which 20 years later has grown into this workshop sponsored by U.G.C. for developing Question Bank in Homesience – Phase I.
1976
College was selected for COHSSIP (College Humanities and Social Sciences Improvement Programme) and was so successful that it was extended for follow up programme after 1983.
1974
Homescience block was extended with Swiss help to provide infrastructure for B.Sc. (Homescience) course and for possible introduction of Post Graduation course.
1971
Four storeyed Science wing for Laboratories was added with aid from U.G.C.
1969
Introduction of two sections of Intermediate courses in Arts and Science with a student strength of 250.

Addition of another storey to the College Building with the assistance of U.G.C.

Affiliation obtained for Psychology course at B.A. level.

Sr. St. Andre took charge as the new Principal. College strength – 400 students and 30 staff

Construction of a two storey Hostel building to accommodate 100 students.

Obtained Permanent affiliation to Andhra University. Construction of resident student centre with aid from U.G.C
