The Examination System (For Degree)

        The College being Autonomous conducts its own exams.  The system of undergraduate examination in St. Joseph’s College for Women (Autonomous) aims at

§    Enhancement of the student’s academic performance by providing regular feed back.

§    Evaluation of the academic performance of the students in an objective manner.

The pattern of evaluation for theory and practical is as follows:                          ‌

* Written Quiz, Case Study, Viva Voce, Journal Reporting, Assignments, Semester / Reporting / Presentations, Extensive Reader Test, Online Testing, Mini Project etc.

and as decided by individual Departments.

If a student fails to attend 75% of the classes, she will not be permitted to appear for the End Semester Exams of that year.


         Practicals are conducted regularly in every science subject and the student is assessed for every practical. Attendance is compulsory. Submission of the certified record is compulsory before doing the Practical exam.

If a student fails to attend the practical lab work, she will not be permitted to appear for the End Semester Practical Exam of that year.
