The English Department started LITSPELL club. It was inaugurated on July 3rd 2015 by Sr. N. D. Veronica.

Objectives of LITSPELL:

  • Quiz on the authors / play-wrightrs / poets related to English Literature.
  • Celebrating birhdays of all the writers related to English Literature.
  • Role plays of the characters related to the plays or dramas of the English Literature.
  • Paper presentations/ seminars on the topics related to English Literature.
  • Group Discussions / debate concerning topics of works written by authors.

The first activity of the club was Music Mantra

   The second activity of the club was quiz on Emily Bronte's Life and Works:           

        On 30-07-2015 the LITSPELL club celebrated Emily Bronte's birth Anniversary. All the students of the First, Second and Third year ELL participated in the event. An activity was conducted by the office bearers of the club i.e quiz on Emily Bronte's life and works.

The third activity of the club was on August 6, 2015 the Litspell celebrated Alfred Lord Tennyson's birth anniversary:

The fourth activity of the club was on August 17, 2015 Birth Anniversary of Ted Hughes was celebrated:

Ms. Sunitha Das faculty in English Deaprtment presented a paper on his life and works.


The fifth activity of the club was on September 11, 2015 a J.A.M session was conducted for all ELL students

The sixth activity of the club was on November 30, 2015 a competition  was conducted on " Alternate Endings" on various works in English Literature.The best alternate endings were:
