Chemistry

Department of Chemistry is another pioneering discipline in the College having been started at its inception. The Chemistry department plays a picotal role in th eCollege since the faculty members of this department are involved in managing Foundation, Interdisciplinary as well Postgraduate Courses.

The Department offers Chemistry for the Intermediate, Degree courses & PG Courses

Intermediateate Course in Chemistry

  • Chemistry with Mathematics and Physics
  • Chemistry with Botany and Zoology

Undergraduate Course in Chemistry is a dynamic one in the College since it was offered as the Main paper of the B.Sc course during the 1970s until the Common Core system was introduced by Andhra University. Chemistry is offered in three combinations  -

  • Chemistry with Mathematics and Physics
  • Chemistry with Botany and Zoology
  • Chemistry with Biotechnology and Biochemistry

POST GRADUATE COURSE IN CHEMISTRY - Organic Chemistry.

Academic Innovations implemented during the current year.

The Postgraduate department of Chemistry is affiliated to Andhra University though the College is autonomous. As such this department has to adopt the syllabus prescribed by the university and the syllabus permits almost negligible scope for innovations except in terms of the methodology employed by the faculty. Apart from meticulous adherence to the syllabus the following innovations have been attempted by the faculty members.

Encourage the students to participate in projects and other academic activities

Organize extracurricular activities through the  auspices of  PGSA (Postgraduate Student Association) in order to contribute to the holistic development.
